Anyone who works in mechanical engineering as a reliable market partner in the area of highly functional surface coatings must understand materials, be able to understand finished products and to make new fields of application possible for them.

Proven technology for consistently high coating quality

The AHC Group, with more than 55 years of experience as a surface specialist in Europe, has built an excellent reputation in the mechanical engineering sector. Every day at AHC, individual parts, small and large series components are meticulously and reliably coated.

  • Looking into a labelling machine. In the background, the rotating container table can be seen, on which bottles are firmly clamped and centred between container plate and centring bells. Rubberised glueing pallets (right) hand the labels over to the gripper cylinders with the light green receiving surface (centre). These, in turn, put the labels on the containers. To do this, slider guides (top right in the small photo), which are hard anodised by AHC, slide in and out from behind.

  • DURNI-COAT® electroless nickel plated shafts are used in CNC multi-spindle automatic lathes. The core is formed by six fluid-cooled motor spindles, integrated into the spindle drum.

  • Preparation of the hard coating of aluminium profiles at the AHC plant in Kerpen. There, a large part of the plant is utilised for hard anodising aluminium components such as rollers, tubes, special tools or even profiles using the HART-COAT® process. The maximum component length can be almost eight meters. The handling, covering and clamping of large components is very demanding.

  • DURNI-COAT® electroless nickel-plated machine component at the AHC plant in Göppingen-Voralb. Heavy components weighing up to four tonnes can be picked up and coated here.

  • The Grip Factory Munich (GFM) is a renowned manufacturer of professional camera equipment. Here you can see the GF-16 crane system in use outside. All aluminium components of the crane are provided with the HART-COAT® surface. Even after numerous and intensive outdoor use, the crane is visually in a very good condition.

Reliable and responsible.

In mechanical engineering, in particular, the AHC group often takes care of the final assembly process step with the "finishing touches" before systems are put into operation. These can be components of a few centimetres in length or large components with complex component geometry, which can have an individual value of several tens of thousands of Euros each.

Forming thermoplastic materials

In mould tools, different aluminium components such as mould inserts, retaining devices, mould bases and adapter plates are used. The requirements for the components' surfaces are improved anti-friction properties, wear protection and corrosion resistance. In order to meet these requirements, AHC Oberflächentechnik hard anodises the parts using the HART-COAT® process.

Turbo-molecular pump

KEPLA-COAT® white coated aluminium rotor of a turbo-molecular pump. The coating increases wear protection and ensures smooth operation under vacuum conditions.

Printing cylinder

Printing cylinders for receiving printing plates are predominantly used in flexographic, offset and letterpress printing machines. Depending on the machine specification, they are also made of special aluminium alloys. To increase wear resistance, the surface of the cylinder is hard-anodised with HART-COAT®.
